[Solution] How to port fowrard your router

I had to do this when I had italics problem on gameranger playing age of empires 3 multiplayer. These steps worked for me.

I am using a TP-Link modem and Windows 7 for this tutorial.

Step-1: Access the router settings

You need to enter the router settings page. Open your browser and enter the IP of your router in the address bar. You can find the IP in your router manual. For me the IP was 192.168.0.1 in my TP Link router. It will prompt you for username and password both of which can be found in the manual or vendor's website. For me it was admin:admin.

Step-2: Configuring the router settings

After you access the router settings page you will see a "Forwarding" button in the sidebar. Click it and select "Virtual Servers"

Step-3: Add a new virtual server entry

Click "Add New". Set the value of "Service Port" and "Internet Port" to "16000". Set the "Protocol" to "UDP" and set "Status" as "Enabled". Dont set anything in "Common Service Port".

If you know your ISP IP address then put your IP address in "IP Address" and click "Save".

If you don't know the your IP address then follow Step-4

Step-4:Finding your IP address (skip if you know your IP address)

Open your start menu and write "cmd" in "run" and press enter.

Then write "ipconfig" in the command menu and press enter.

Then you will see "IPv4 address", "Subnet Mask" and "Default Gateway".
The "IPv4 address" is your IP address. For me the IP address is "192.168.0.102". Type this address in your router forwarding settings.

Now click "Save" and your port forwarding is complete.
